About the Item

ZDZISŁAW WIATR (born 1960) He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Katowice, where in 1986 he received a diploma with the honourable mention. In the years 1986-1987 he was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art. He is currently an associate professor at the Institute of Arts of the J. Dlugosz Academy in Czestochowa. His work has been exhibited at numerous individual and collective exhibitions in the country (eg at the International Print Triennial in Krakow in 1991 and 2003 or the Polish Graphic Triennial in Katowice in 2003) and abroad, i.a. in Finland and the Czech Republic. Awards: distinctions at the International Exhibition Of Miniature Art in Toronto in 1989 and 1991; distinction, "Misterium cierpienia - misterium odkupienia", 2005; peer award, "Gdy słowo staje się obrazem", 2006. PROVENANCE Exhibited at Katarzyna Napiorkowska Gallery. The Gallery is a primary representative for this artist. The Gallery of Katarzyna Napiorkowska is one of the first private art galleries in Poland. For over 30 years, the gallery has been presenting contemporary paintings, graphics, drawings, and sculptures. Our galleries are located in Warsaw and Brussels. The portfolio of the Gallery includes selected objects of renowned Polish artists. In 2015, our Gallery was awarded the prestigious title of the Ambassador of the Polish Economy in the European Brand category awarded by the Business Center Club. CONDITION Very good condition. FRAME The painting is not framed. One of the photos presented a visualisation of the frame.

The style of the work is evocative of the prohibition era. Rosie Emerson, born in 1981, is a contemporary artist working almost exclusively on representing the female form. Emerson’s figures draw reference from archetypes old and new, from Artemis to the modern day super model, each solitary figure, an allegory of her own fantasy. Interested in surface, the interplay between photography and painting.
